Russell D’Souza is Vice President of Global Financial Services at Hanesbrands Inc., a $7 billion leader in the apparel industry, with leading brands like Hanes, Champion, Playtex, and Wonderbra, based in Winston-Salem, N.C. His responsibilities include managing global financial processes such as credit risk, payables, travel and entertainment, payroll, indirect taxes, and asset management for all of the company’s commercial and supply chain entities. He also leads the finance transformation strategy project at the company.
Prior to joining Hanesbrands, Russell’s previous experiences include Hallmark Cards, Inc., in the areas of international finance, credit and global business development, and Collective Brands/Payless Shoesource (a former division of May Dept. Stores – now Macy’s) in merchandise planning and corporate finance, and he was also a professor of finance & international business.
Russell has been active in the realm of credit and international trade, through association memberships and advisory roles on Chambers of Commerce. He has served on the boards of the National Association of Credit Management (NACM) and its international association, FCIB, as Chairman. He currently serves on the board of the International Credit & Trade Finance Association (ICTF), a credit association dedicated to practitioners involved in global credit risk management activities. Additionally, Russell serves on the advisory boards at Winston-Salem State University and at Wake Forest University. He was also chair of the 2014 Hanesbrands United Way campaign in Forsyth County, North Carolina, and under his leadership Hanesbrands was recipient of The Spirit of North Carolina Award for Campaign Excellence.
Russell earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA in Finance and International Business, and is conversant in Hindi, Japanese, and French.
Russell, his wife, and their two teenage daughters, live in Oak Ridge, North Carolina, U.S.A.
